Meta Filter

Learn about meta filter as well as setup

We understand the use case for meta fields, meta field filters let you filter off of meta fields and create custom filter. Simply enter meta namespace and key and enjoy those shiny filters on your store.




Create Meta Filter

To create a new meta filter, click on the "Add Filter" dropdown and select the "Meta Filter" option


Doing so takes you to a "Add Filter" page, enter the following fields to create a meta filter:


Filter Name


Enter a unique name for a new filter for your store. Let's say you want to create a "color" filter for your store.


Description


Add a description describing the purpose of the filter, make sure to keep it brief under 200 characters.


Status


Flip the toggle on or off for its visibility on your store. If the toggle is flipped on as "enabled", the filter is going to get displayed on your store and if it's flipped off, the filter will not be visible on your store page.


Meta Namespace


Enter the namespace per your meta fields.


Meta Key


Enter the key per your meta fields.


Sort Order


Choose the sort order for your filter values. The values can be sorted by count of the product, Alphabetically or manually.


Tag Grouping


Tag grouping is a way to combine multiple tags into a single tag. Example : tagX => tag1,tag2,tag3.


User Interface


Select the interface of your filter. The filter can be displayed as a single select list, multi-select list, color list and color swatch


Collapse State


Select the collapse state as a desktop view or a mobile view. Select the layout on which you like the filter section to appear.

Collection Handle


The ability to show/ hide the filter on a certain collection. Select show or hide from the listing method option and enter the collection name(s) you'd like to select.

  • Listing Method: Choose the listed method as show or hide.
  • Collection Name: Enter the name of the collection(s) (you can choose multiple collections).

Visibility


Choose if you'd like to display the filter on the collection section or the search page section or both.


Search Box


If enabled, users can search through the filter values.


Single Values


If enabled, Sparq will not display/ hide the filters with single values.
