Promotion is a key element in putting across the benefits of your product or service to the customers. Well-designed marketing and promotional strategies ensure long-term success, bring in more customers, and ensure profitability for businesses.
Sparq product search and filters allow you to have control over your search results by pinning products to the top you want to promote or hiding some products from search results you don't want to show.
Go to the Sparq product search and filter app and then choose the Catalog menu. You will see the list of all the products, collections, and pages indexed in the Sparq from your Shopify store.
Pin Items
A pinned item will always come on top of the search results for relevant search queries. Eg. if you pin a product with the title “Red Shirt”, then if somebody searches for “red shirt”, “red” or “shirt” and if the product is part of the search results, it will be bubbled to top among its peers.
You can pin multiple items for a given query. You can define how pinned items are ranked among each other by updating the promotion score for each item.
To pin a product, collection, or page, simply search for the required item by searching at the input box at the top. For the required item, on the right-most column, you will see the “Actions” along with two symbols. Clicking on the “Star” icon will Pin it to the top. To unpin an item, click on the Star icon again and the item will no longer be prioritized.
You can see all promoted products by using Show Promoted filter.
Hide Items
If you hide an item then that product will simply not show up in the search results. To hide multiple products at the same time, you can check out our Hide Tags section.
To hide a product, collection, or page, simply search for the required item by searching at the input box at the top. For the required item, on the right-most column, you will see the “Actions” along with two symbols. Clicking on the “Stop” icon will hide the item from search results. You can always revert changes by clicking the stop button again.
You can see all the hidden products by using the Show Hidden filter.
